Spinach with Ground Meat

Spinach with Ground Meat  (Kıymalı Ispanak)

Spinach-1 kg
Onions2 medium size120 grams
Ground meat1 cup175 grams
Margarine3 tablespoons30 grams
Rice¼ cup45 grams
Tomato paste1 tablespoon10 grams
Salt 1½ teaspoon9 grams
Water (hot)1 cup200 grams


Weed out the spinach and wash. Wash the onions and chop finely. Place the onions, ground meat and margarin in a saucepan, cover and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally for about 8-10 minutes until all the juice is reduced. Wash the rice and add to the saucepan together with the tomato paste, salt and water, stir. Chop the spinach 1 centimetre thick and add to the boiling mixture, stir once when the leaves are slightly tender, and cook for 10-15 minutes until the rice has become elongated and tender.
