Fish On Clay Tile (Kiremitte Balık)

Red Mullet- -1 kg
Salt1 1/2 teaspoon9 gr
Onion1 medium size75 gr
Tomatoe2 small size150 gr
Wax paper1 sheet- -
Butter3 tablespoon30 gr


Scrape and clean fısh. Rinse and sprinkle with salt. Put in a colander. Let stand for 15 minutes; drain. Have a shallow earthenware baking dish (or a clay tile) lined with two layers of parchment (or aluminium foil). Place fısh in baking dish. Spread sliced onions and tomatoes over. Dot with melted butter. Bake in a moderate oven for 40 minutes. Serve hot.

Regional Characteristics:

Bass, bluefısh, trout, gray mullet can be used instead of red mullet. Served with vegetable salad and lemon wedges. Any kind of dessert is served afterwards.
