ALTINTAŞ, Hayrani

Writer (b. 28 August 1942, Akşehir / Konya). He attended Bor Şehit Nuri Pamir Elementary School and graduated from Konya Ereğli High School (1962) and Ankara University, Faculty of Theology (1967). He received his PhD at the Sorbonne with “Les Idees Soufigues d'Ibrahim Haggı” (Sufism Ideas of İbrahim Hakkı). He worked as a proofreader at the Department of Religious Affairs (1968) and as a teacher in Çumra and Konya (1970- 71). He became an assistant at Ankara University, Faculty of Theology in 1977 and an associate professor in 1982. He did research in Tunisia and Germany. He taught Islamic Philosophy as an academician. He gave lectures at Algeria Constantine University in 1987-88. He became a professor in 1988. He was the assistant-dean of Ankara University, Faculty of Theology between 1983 and 1989. He worked as a state ministry advisor (1989- 1991). He returned to the university in 1991. He served as a senator in the University Senate for two terms between 1993 and 1999. He was a board member at Ankara University, Institute of Social Sciences and again a state ministry advisor between 1995 and 1998 and was the head of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Sciences between 1994 and 2002. He became the chairman of the Konya Culture and Solidarity Association between 1992 and 1995. He is a member of the Philosophy Society of Turkey.
His compilations and translated articles have been published in reviews such as A.Ü. İlahiyat Fakültesi, Türk Yurdu, Türk Kültürü, Diyanet, Eğitim Hareketleri, Din Öğretimi, Araştırma and Türk Dili. He has written nearly one hundred articles, translations, papers, and declarations on philosophical thought in Islam, sufism, psychology and morality which were presented at national and international congresses and he has appeared in discussion programs on radio and television.
