Theater Festival set to begin

The Second International
Black Sea Countries Theater Festival organized by State Theaters kicks off today
in Trabzon. Theater companies from Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Romania, Ukraine,
Bulgaria, Georgia and Türkiye will participate in the festival in which State
Theaters hopes will strengthen cultural ties.
Culture Minister
İstemihan Talay, State Theaters General Director Faruk Günuğur and Trabzon Governor
Adil Yazar will attend the opening of the festival. Following a series of folk
dance performances, the theater companies will march from Trabzon State Theater
to Atapark Haluk Ongan Stage. Later, the theater groups will be introduced one
by one.
Among the plays
that will be staged through May 25 on two different stages include Russian Perm
Youth Theater's "Storm," Ukraine Koleso Theater's "Emma,"
Belarus Brest Drama Theater's "Salomeya," Bulgarian State Puppet Theater's
"Play of Lights and Shadows," Moldova Republican Theater Luceafarul's
"A Summer Night's Smile," Romania Fundatia Enciclopedia Amza Pellea's
"A Conversation After Your Funeral" and Georgia Batum Youth Theater's
"Revive My Georgia."
