Ottoman architectural works outside Turkey cover in time and space large geographical areas and extensive historical periods. Ottoman construction work spread out within the lands under Ottoman sovereignty. Consequently, architectural works are considered as Ottoman regardless of the style they were built in, if they were constructed during the Ottoman period. Yet, uninterrupted pre-Ottoman architectural traditions (as seen in the Middle Eastern Countries), Ottoman style proper, the union of the last two or European styles after the 18th century, could coexist respectively in architectural work.
